A visit to Mexico would never be complete without having taste a shot of tequila. Beyond being the most renowned Mexican drink in the world, tequila is a representation of our heritage and history. Senate has therefore fixed on March 20th, 2018 the third Saturday of March as the National Tequila Day. This is aimed at rising tequila’s reputation around de world and Mexican economy. As this program started last year, producers claimed to have noticed a sharply increase in sales. In addition, some countries joined the celebration as well. Fact that is thus improving international relations and creating new sources of employment.
Apart from all economic profits, many other cultural and social advantages have been remarked. As a result of internationalization, Mexican culture has crossed borders and thus caused create a new conception about tequila.
Even though international scope has become amazingly relevant, Tequila Jalisco will still be the born-place of this drink. Besides being the town with the major agave crops, it is also a sanctuary for preserving its history and secrets. In other terms, this is a huge museum for tequila lovers. There’s hence no better place to celebrate the National Tequila Day.

Finally, there’s no doubt that the best way to end up a day is eating a recomforting meal. Thanks god, Tequila hasn’t anything but delicious meals. First, if you dare, you must try the “Cantaritos” or the “Pachechadas”. Those are locally created cocktails that can’t be found anywhere else. Also, if you want to discover the real deliciousness of the town, don’t forget to visit La Antigua Casona®. It is a gorgeous restaurant near the main square that has the most exquisite “Carne en su Jugo”, “Pozole” (Mexican stew) and “Tortas Ahogadas” (a sandwich in chili sauce).
