Happy 15th Anniversary Raven World! 4 experiences that will catch you in Tequila.

Mundo Cuervo

Tequila is a fascinating Magic Town! I am delighted with this place and its attractions. It is true that the more I discovered this corner of Mexico through the experiences offered by Mundo Cuervo, the more I wanted to return. So, taking advantage of the fact that they are celebrating their 15th anniversary and by way of congratulations, today I want to tell you why it's worth living the 4 experiences of Mundo Cuervo that will catch you in Tequila, Jalisco.

Gastronomic and traditional experience: Fábrica La Rojeña

Within my itinerary of activities in Tequila, my first adventure was at Fábrica La Rojeña. What a welcome! I would never have imagined walking around the bowels of a tequila distillery, smelling the freshly cooked agave from the ovens, tasting the different varieties of this delicious drink at the hands of an expert tequila maker and getting to know the Jose Cuervo Family Reserve© cava, which was a refuge for priests during the Cristera War, between 1926 and 1929.

The tour of Fábrica la Rojeña is fascinating and learning about the process of distilling tequila greatly enriches the visit.

Don't forget to take the emblematic photo with the huge crow at the entrance to the factory! Right next to this sculpture are the Jose Cuervo© Shops where you will find handicrafts, tequila chocolates, designer jewelry and much more.

Travel by train from Guadalajara to Tequila: Jose Cuervo Express

This was one of the most fun experiences I have had in the history of my travels and I recommend you to live it as soon as the opportunity arises.

Jose Cuervo Express departs from the Guadalajara station and passes through the towns of El Arenal and Amatitán until it reaches Tequila; this whole region presents a beautiful agave landscape that will leave you with your mouth open. Everything on this journey is in photos: the wagons, the train's locomotive and the spectacular views that will accompany you during the journey while you taste tequila.

I really appreciated the service of the Jose Cuervo Express train staff, who made me feel at home with their friendly and warm smile at all times.

Accommodation and luxury service: Hotel Solar de las Ánimas

Hotel solar de las Ánimas

During my four day and three night stay in Tequila I stayed at Hotel Solar de las Ánimas, located right in front of the town's central square and with an unbeatable view of the Santiago Apostle Church.

The rooms, beautiful and spacious, have all the comforts of a modern luxury hotel, which at the same time is in perfect harmony with the design, atmosphere and architecture of a true viceregal house of the seventeenth century.

In the hotel there is a restaurant called La Antigua Casona, where I tasted for the first time a typical Jalisco drowned cake and a meat juice that was to hallucinate. In addition to this beautiful restaurant, the hotel has two bars, one sky bar with one of the best views of Tequila and one Mexican style bar that honors the life and work of Jalisco painter Chucho Reyes. Be careful here, because in this bar you will find original works by the eccentric artist who revolutionized contemporary Mexican art. You'll be as impressed as I am, for sure!

Spectacular Gardens: Hacienda el Centenario

Hacienda el Centenario

When I walked through the gates of the Hacienda el Centenario Lázaro Gallardo I was shocked! I didn't expect what I would see: sculptures by Leonora Carrington and Sergio Bustamante decorating the enormous gardens and esplanade of the hacienda, a beautiful kiosk inspired by the architecture of the former Santa Catalina de Siena Convent in Oaxaca and a "Tienda de Raya", whose bar is the largest in all of Latin America, with more than 1,600 collector's items. Touring Mundo Cuervo's Centennial Hacienda will make you feel like you're in a fairy tale.

The love that Mundo Cuervo brings to each of the experiences it offers its visitors is evident. The passion for Mexican popular culture that the family and collaborators of Mundo Cuervo© transmit is contagious and worthy of a grand celebration.

Thank you for 15 years of making us sigh, Mundo Cuervo. If I return to Tequila soon, it will be largely thanks to you. Congratulations!
