From there, go to the Parish of Santiago Apostle, which was built in the seventeenth century, and was the scene of historical episodes in the Independence and the Revolution.

Take the opportunity to walk around the Municipal Palace, whose attraction is not its architecture, but the monumental mural that tells the story of tequila. Manuel Hernández is the author of this work, which shows the historical facet of “El Pueblo Mágico de Tequila”, such as the agave and the transport of pineapples on mules, the characters of Independence and the typical charreria shows.

From the Plaza, you can visit Hacienda el Centenario in the Lerdo de Tejada street, an ideal place for weddings, events, and meetings. It is sure that you will be impressed by the gardens of this place, where you can discover a small arena and a collection of sculptures by the artist Leonora Carrington. You will surely love the temperature of “El Pueblo Mágico de Tequila”, especially if you go on Saturday, since it oscillates at 73.4ºF, the annual average in this place. Upon entering Tequila, at the end of Tabasco Street, you will find the communal sinks, built-in 1918 before the water shortage, and which are the reason for numerous legends.
