The only old-style train in Mexico celebrates its sixth anniversary, well-known as one of the most popular attractions to admire the agave landscape. Making tours every Saturday of the year, departs from the Guadalajara station and arrives to Tequila, Magic Town.
It is a unique experience for the youngest and a return to the past for the old ones. A trip to celebrate as a family in the oldest railway convoy in Mexico.
Designed by Roberto Elias and in operation since 2012, Jose Cuervo Express is more than a tourist attraction. Is a tribute to the history and tradition of Tequila and the Mexican people. An initiative by Jose Cuervo where past and present come together to give a unique experience aboard a stylish, first class train where traditions and the soul of Mexico have a greater presence than ever before.
Demonstrating personalized and professional service all time, Jose Cuervo Express travels 70 km for 2 hours to reach the city of Tequila. With a capacity for 375 passengers, it has 7 wagons and 3 different travel experiences at the customer's choice: Express, Premium and Premium Plus.
During the tour, you can admire the beautiful landscape of the area, typical music, charreria, and even the process of the distillation of tequila. Characteristic signs that represent the culture of the Mexican state of Jalisco. A gift from Jose Cuervo to the residents of the area as an expression of appreciation for more than 250 years of history and tradition of this 100% Mexican company internationally recognized.
Travel options in the 6th anniversary
The traveler can choose between two different itineraries. First, there is Sunrise, where you will fall in love with the attractiveness of the town of Tequila. And the other, Sunset, in which you will visit the historical streets, shops and museums of Tequilla and also the Jose Cuervo agave fields and learn the jima from the hands of the best jimadores.
The Sunset schedule departs from the Expo Guadalajara at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 8:00 p.m. to the Ferromex station in Guadalajara, and Sunrise schedule depart at 9:00 a.m. from the Ferromex station and returns at 8:00 p.m. to Expo Guadalajara. The rate per person ranges from $ 2,000 pesos to $ 2,200 pesos. Youth fares are also offered and children under the age of 5 don´t pay with no seat assigned.
